In 8th «KORISSIOUS» Canoe Kayak Sprint races organized by the Nautical Club of Hania, the Municipality of Georgioupolis, the Greek Federation of Canoe Kayak and sponsored by the Prefecture of Chania and the Local Union of Municipalities and Communities, the Nautical Club of Hania won a total of 16 medals (4 Gold - 6 Silver - 6 Bronze).

The races were held on 18-19 October 2008 in the lake Kournas with the participation of 160 athletes from 12 clubs all over Greece and a delegation of athletes from 5 clubs in Cyprus. The Nautical Club of Hania participated with 40 athletes whose final results confirmed that the Club is in the top three in Greece.

The Municipality of Georgioupolis must thank the Nautical Club of Hania for its good cooperation all these years and the co-organizers for their support in the games.
